North Korean Hacking Group WaterPlum Compromises 30,000 Devices Worldwide, Transfers $10.7 Million in Cryptocurrency
A joint law enforcement advisory issued in September 2026 warns that the North Korean hacking group WaterPlum, also tracked as APT37, compromised at least 30,000 devices globally between December 2025 and July 2026. The operation resulted in the transfer of over $10.7 million in stolen cryptocurrency to North Korea. The advisory attributes the activity to a coordinated effort involving multiple international law enforcement agencies.
